Got a new computer so I bought Microsoft office 2024 Professional Plus. So I deleted the older version of my word, excel, and ppt, and when I went though the steps everything including teams got downloaded but only teams seems to work. Work, ppt, and excel are asking me to purchase the membership again. User's image

The AI-generated response is right: Professional Plus 2024 is not a consumer (home use) license. If the seller led you to believe that you purchased a consumer license, you have to ask for your money back.

Office Home & Business 2024 (includes Outlook) and Office Home 2024 (does not include Outlook) are consumer versions which are licensed for a single user on a single computer (PC or Mac).

Office Professional Plus 2024 is a volume license product intended for organizations, not for individual home users. Sellers that advertise “Office 2024 Professional Plus” or “lifetime license” for home use are typically reselling volume licenses in violation of Microsoft’s terms.

Because of this, the apps on the new computer are not activating correctly and are prompting for a Microsoft 365 subscription or purchase instead of recognizing a valid retail license. This is consistent with known cases where users bought Office “2024 Professional/Professional Plus” from third‑party sites and then could not activate Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The correct resolution is not to try to fix or reinstall this “Professional Plus 2024” package, but to contact the seller, explain that a non‑consumer volume license was sold, and request a refund. For a legitimate home license, purchase one of the supported consumer products (for example, Microsoft 365 Family/Personal or Office Home & Business) directly from Microsoft or an authorized retailer, then install and activate it using a Microsoft account as described in the referenced articles.
