I have been emailing myself with screenshots from work app for months with no problems. Suddenly I am getting the following message: "Remote server returned '550 5.7.520 Message blocked because it contains content identified as spam. AS(9530)'". Can anyone help with answers?

Hi Clark, I am grateful for your reply. I have tried what you suggested. However, In my work app I don't have an option to compress files. I can only share files as a screen shot or a pdf file and then share by using options provided. For example, I used to always use Microsoft Word to share pdf or screen shot to my own email. Now, through trial and error method, I have discovered that if I share a pdf file from my work app using Microsoft 365 (which I subscribe to) I can email myself successfully. Thank you for your time and effort, I really appreciate it. Happy New Year! :)

    Hi there,
I got this message as well "550 5.7.520 Message blocked because it contains content identified as spam. AS(9530)' when I tried to CC my own hotmail.com address.

Kindly advice how to resolve this.

    Thank you

    Dear Maddy E

Thanks for using Microsoft products and posting in the Community.

For the situation you described, when your mailbox shows the 550 5.7.520 error, generally speaking, you have sent the screenshot several times, which may be mistaken by Microsoft that your mailbox has been flagged by Microsoft because of sending the screenshot several times, and that is why this error message appears.

Can you do this test: if your screenshot is sent as an attachment, you can compress the file into .rar or .zip format, and then add it as an attachment to send it, and see if there is still an error message?

If your screenshot is sent as an image in the body, you can set the image as an attachment, or a PDF file. Then send it to test whether it is normal.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Best wishes
