In het volgende voorbeeld wordt een validatieregel met de naam ValidateDateAndPricegebruikt. De ValidationRule.ValidationStep regel voor deze regel is zo ingesteld ConvertedProposedValue dat wanneer deze wordt uitgevoerd, de ValidationRule.Validate methode toegang heeft tot waarden die van het type broneigenschap zijn.

Wanneer de PriceIsAPositiveNumber en FutureDateRule regels worden uitgevoerd, zijn de waarden in elke ValidationRule.Validate methode tekenreeksen omdat de standaardwaarde ValidationRule.ValidationStep is RawProposedValue. Daarom worden de regels uitgevoerd voordat de waarden worden geconverteerd naar hun respectieve typen.

In de ValidationRule.Validate methode is de Price eigenschap van het type Doubleen is de OfferExpires eigenschap van het type DateTime. De tekenreeksen zijn geconverteerd naar hun respectieve typen op het moment dat de ValidationRule uitvoeringen worden uitgevoerd.
