Live Chat request

I want to use Live Chat but everything I do brings me back to more 'suggestions', waffle and general stuff I'm not interested in. I just want another real person at the end of the keyboard to discuss an issue with. I cannot resolve it with all the 'helpful' info I'm being bombarded with at every turn.

    Hello, John Carruthers.

Log in to your personal MS account on the page https://support.microsoft.com/en-US/home/contact?SourceApp=smc2&ContactUsExperienceEntryPointAssetId=www.microsoft.com

In the search bar, type (without quotes) "agent support" and press Enter or click on Get Help. Ignore the search results, and click on the "Contact Support" button at the bottom. On the next page, select "Microsoft 365 and Office" and "Technical Support" from the drop-down lists, and then click on "Confirm". Next, select the chat "Chat with a support agent in your web browser" and on the next page (if requested), enter your (the one that works) email address and click on "Confirm". A chat window will open in a new tab. Wait for the response from the support specialist.

To reach a real support agent instead of automated suggestions, use Microsoft’s live chat options for consumer accounts and billing:

    1. On a Windows PC, open the Get Help app (search for “Get Help” from Start).
    2. Describe the issue briefly, then when automated answers appear, look for Contact support.
    3. Select Microsoft 365 / Office or the product that matches the subscription.
    4. Continue through the prompts until the contact options appear, then choose:
      • Chat with a support agent in your web browser, or
      • Call me back, if available.

For Outlook.com / Microsoft account issues in a browser:

    1. Go to Outlook.com and sign in with the Microsoft account used for the subscription.
    2. Select Help on the menu bar.
    3. Enter the issue in the Help pane and review the suggested articles.
    4. If these do not help, scroll down and select Yes under Still need help?.
    5. Choose Chat with a support agent in your web browser, fill in the issue details and email, then confirm to open a live chat with an agent.

If the issue is specifically about Microsoft 365 billing or being overcharged, another path is:

    1. Go to the Microsoft support contact page and sign in with the subscription account.
    2. Type something like Chat with an agent and press Enter.
    3. Select Contact support.
    4. Choose Products and services, then follow the prompts to select the Microsoft 365 subscription and a billing-related topic.
    5. When contact options appear, select Chat with a support agent in your web browser or Call me back.

These paths bypass most of the automated “suggestions” and connect directly to a human support agent who can review the account and subscription details.
