The error is caused by the website’s content delivery network (CDN) temporarily blocking the IP address because it is seeing too many requests in a short period and treating them as a possible denial-of-service attack.

The same behavior is documented for Microsoft sites hosted on Akamai CDN:

    • If a single origin (for example, a home or corporate network) connects too frequently, the CDN automatically blocks that IP.
    • The block is usually temporary and is removed after the connection volume drops below the CDN’s thresholds for a while.

To work around or resolve this:

    1. Wait and try again later from the same connection; the block is typically lifted automatically once traffic normalizes.
    2. Restart the router or modem to obtain a new public IP address (if the ISP assigns dynamic IPs), which may bypass the block.
    3. If using any automated tools, browser extensions, or devices that repeatedly check or crawl websites from the same network, reduce their frequency so they do not trigger CDN protection.
    4. If on a managed/enterprise network, ask the network administrator to review any connectivity-test devices or scripts that may be hitting the site too often and adjust their intervals.
