Displaying your screen content to others during a Teams meeting or call for collaboration
Hi Rebecca Halsall,
Good day, and thank you for explaining your concern in such detail.
Microsoft Teams can support the same hybrid teaching scenarios as Zoom, and I'd love to answer your questions and provide some related documents.
- Can everyone see and hear the instructor, regardless of location?
Microsoft Teams is designed for hybrid meetings and classes, where:
- some participants are in a conference room,
- others join remotely from home, and
- the instructor may be in a separate location.
When your conference room is equipped with Teams‑certified hardware (Teams Rooms), in‑room participants use the room’s camera, microphone, and speakers, while remote participants join from their own devices. All participants whether remote or in the room can see and hear the instructor, shared content (slides, videos, screen sharing), and each other (subject to meeting layout and camera setup).
This hybrid experience is a core, supported scenario for Microsoft Teams:

- Can I get a post‑class attendance report with names and time logged?
Microsoft Teams provides an Attendance Report for scheduled meetings and classes.
After the meeting ends, the organizer (or co‑organizer) can download a report showing:
- attendee names (or anonymous identifiers for guests),
- join time,
- leave time,
- and total duration each person was connected.
The report is downloadable as a CSV file (which can be opened in Excel or printed) and is intended for use cases such as training, education, and compliance tracking.
Note: Attendance reports are retained for one year, after which they are automatically deleted, so downloading and saving them is recommended for record‑keeping.

- How does pricing work? Is it per class or per person?
Microsoft Teams does not charge per class or per meeting.
Instead, pricing is license‑based:
- Your organization pays a flat monthly fee per licensed user (staff, instructors, or coordinators).
- Students or external attendees do not need paid licenses to join a class, they can join as guests via a meeting link.
Common options include:
- Teams Essentials or Microsoft 365 Business plans, which allow up to 300 participants per meeting and long meeting durations. For more information, please consult Microsoft Teams Pricing for Business: Plans & Features
- Teams Rooms licensing for conference room systems (licensed per room, not per meeting or attendee).
This model is often simpler than per‑host or per‑session pricing, especially for recurring education classes.
I hope this provides enough clarity and helps you stay inform with your current situation.
