My subscription renewed today for Microsoft 365 Personal $99.99/yearly. I want to switch it to

Microsoft 365 Basic $19.99/yearly. It does not say that it will refund the $99.00 only that it will switch on 11/25/2026 and we’ll charge $19.99. Please explain.

Thanks,

    Hello Brian Cloutier

I can see that you want to switch from Microsoft 365 personal to basic plan, but it said it will switch on 11/25/2026. I will explain this message to you:

Your Microsoft 365 Personal plan renewed today for the full yearly term at $99.99. This payment covers all Personal features (including full desktop Office apps and 1 TB OneDrive storage) until November 25, 2026.

When you choose to switch to Microsoft 365 Basic ($19.99/year), the change is automatically scheduled for your next renewal date. On 11/25/2026 your plan will convert to Basic, and that’s when the lower price will be charged. You’ll continue using your current Personal benefits until then.

If you wish issue a refund now for the personal subscription, please refer to this site:

Here is also how to contact Microsoft support, in case you need more assistance on this issue:

    1. Open a website link - Contact - Microsoft Support
    2. In the box below "We're here to help", type Microsoft 365, click "Get Help", and then click "Contact Support" below.
    3. In this section, you will need to sign in to your Microsoft account.
    4. Select "Microsoft 365 and Office" under Products & Services, select "Manage my Subscription" as the category, and click to confirm
    5. You can select " Chat with a support agent in your web browser " to access the chat window.

I hope you can get the support you need, have a nice day.
