How do I install Outlook 365?

Thanks for getting back. Yes Classic and 365 Outlook are the same products.

    Hi Peter,

With Microsoft 365, you should get Outlook. The issue might be that Outlook 365 might be opening Outlook New based on the version number I see you posted.

Could you please click Help, and see the option to Switch to Classic Outlook?

    Hi,

Don't worry, I am happy to address all questions.

I now have two icons, one is the previous program and the second is the classic. I prefer the classic as it is what I used to use on my old computer (Outlook 2000).

Yes, Outlook New aka the second icon, comes with Windows. You can uninstall it using the link below:

Now, how can I transfer the calendar and the contacts from one program to the other?

Both Programs sync with each other, so if you have the same email accounts in both, the calendar and contacts should be there :)

Outlook is included in the Microsoft 365 apps; there is no separate “Outlook 365” download for home subscriptions. If Outlook did not install with the rest of the Office apps, reinstall the full Microsoft 365 suite from the account that owns the subscription.

Follow these steps on the PC where Outlook is missing:

    1. Go to https://m365.cloud.microsoft/apps.
    2. Sign in with the Microsoft account that is associated with the Microsoft 365 subscription.
    3. On the Apps page, select Install and more, then Install Microsoft 365 apps (or Install appsInstall, depending on what is shown).
    4. When the installer (for example, OfficeSetup.exe) is downloaded, open it and complete the installation wizard.
    5. If prompted by User Account Control with “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”, choose Yes.
    6. After installation finishes, open Outlook from the Start menu. On first launch, sign in with the same Microsoft 365 account to activate it.

If Outlook still does not appear after reinstalling, verify that the subscription is a Microsoft 365 plan that includes the full desktop apps (such as Microsoft 365 Family, Personal, or a business plan) and that the correct account is used when signing in.
