    Hi Colgan,

The BitLocker recovery key is usually in one of these places:

    • Microsoft account recovery page if it was backed up to a personal Microsoft account: go to aka.ms/myrecoverykey and sign in.
    • Work or school account / Microsoft Entra ID if the laptop belongs to your organization: go to aka.ms/aadrecoverykey and sign in with the org account. If you are an admin, you can also view the key in the Microsoft Entra admin center under the device details by choosing Show Recovery Key.
    • Intune / Company Portal if the device is enrolled there: the recovery key can be retrieved from the Intune Company Portal website or app, if your account has permission.

If you cannot see it in the admin area, the usual causes are that the laptop was never backed up to that tenant, it was signed into a different account, or your admin account does not have permission to view recovery keys.

If this helps resolve your issue, feel free to mark the answer so others can benefit as well.

    Have a nice day!
