Name to sign in through Authenticator app

I got a replacement phone recently after upgrading. Found that the Authenticator app on my old phone that I transferred over is unable to authenticate. The app is broken. I tried all the help that is recommended through the “guides” yet they are all unhelpful. I tried calling support? No one answers. I can use my email no problem on my laptop but I can’t verify anything through my laptop ? I have wasted several hours of my time for a bug that Microsoft refuses to address.
