Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hello @J Watson
Based on your report, several emails were dragged and dropped from your primary account to the destination account approximately two months ago, but they are currently not appearing in the destination folders. In this scenario, Outlook typically interprets a "drag and drop" action between two different accounts as a move operation; this means the items are transferred to the new account and simultaneously deleted from the original source account.
To help us narrow down the cause, could you please provide the following details:
- Are the emails missing on both the Outlook Desktop App and the Web version (outlook.office.com)?
- If you search for a specific sender or keyword from the missing emails in the destination account, do any results appear?
- Please check the original source account. Are the emails still visible in its "Deleted Items" folder or the original folder name they were moved from?
- Immediately after the drag-and-drop action, did you verify that the emails appeared in the destination folder successfully before they went missing?
Besides, if these emails are critical to your operations, you can request the IT Admin of your organization to use the "Content Search" tool. This professional utility allows the administrator to search the server directly to retrieve the full content and attachments of the missing emails, even if they are not visible in your local Outlook view.
