Hi KK_Lou,
This usually is Google Drive for desktop behavior, not Windows 11 deleting the folder. In Google’s docs, streamed files can be removed locally when the account is disconnected, while mirrored files remain on the PC. Google also warns that system cleaner apps can change Drive’s config and cause data loss.
To keep the folder on your PC, open Google Drive for desktop -> Settings -> Preferences -> Folders from Drive -> My Drive syncing options and choose Mirror files instead of Stream files. Google’s advanced guide also warns to wait for sync to finish before switching modes, because deleting the old mirrored folder too early can lose unsynced files. If the folder already disappeared, check Drive on the web -> Trash and Activity, and make sure you are signed into the correct Google account. Google says missing files can be moved or deleted, and items in Trash are kept for 30 days before permanent deletion.
If it still keeps happening, Google’s troubleshooting steps are to restart Drive for desktop, restart the PC, disconnect and reconnect the account, and reinstall Drive for desktop. Link to read: https://support.google.com/drive/answer/13470231?hl=en
