    Hi Võ Hoàng Quân,

Thank you for your post. I understand the urgency when a Windows update keeps failing.

Before giving new steps, please confirm:

    1. Are you enrolled in Dev or Canary channel? (Settings → Windows Update → Windows Insider Program)
    2. Is the update KB5086672 failing at installing or rebooting (e.g., stuck at % or rollback)?

In the meantime, please try the following:

Step 1 – Check feature state compatibility

Some Dev builds fail if optional features are partially enabled.

    • Open “Settings” > “System” > “Optional features”
    • Remove any recently added optional feature (if any), then restart
    • Retry installing KB5086672

Step 2 – Use Insider clean update path (official method)

    If Step 1 doesn’t help:

    • Download the latest Windows Insider ISO that matches your channel
    • Run setup.exe and choose “Keep personal files and apps”

Hi. I'm David, and I'm happy to help you.

    Please clarify the following:

Do you have a third-party antivirus installed? If yes, which one?

Also. What is the current "OS Build" of your Windows 11?

    • Press "Windows + R", type winver, and click OK.

If you prefer, share a screenshot. Use the shortcut "Windows + Shift + S" to use the screenshot tool.

Error 0x80070032 is a Windows Update/installation error. Use the standard Windows 11 upgrade/update troubleshooting steps and then the specific repair tools.

    1. Apply general fixes
    • Remove external hardware: Unplug nonessential USB devices (external drives, printers, scanners, docking station, etc.).
    • Update Windows first: Install all other important/available updates (including driver updates) before trying KB 5086672 again.
    • Uninstall non-Microsoft antivirus: Temporarily remove third‑party antivirus/security tools via Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features, then retry the update.
    • Uninstall nonessential/old software: Remove outdated or unnecessary apps that might interfere with the upgrade, then retry.
    1. Run Windows Update troubleshooters
    • Open Settings → Windows Update → Troubleshoot (or Troubleshooters) and run the Windows Update troubleshooter.
    • Let it detect and fix issues, then restart the PC and try installing KB 5086672 again.
    1. Repair system files Some update errors are caused by missing or damaged system files.
    • Open Command Prompt as administrator.
    • Run DISM to repair the component store:
      • DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
    • After DISM completes, restart the PC.
    • Optionally, run System File Checker:
      • sfc /scannow
    • When finished, restart again and retry the update.
    1. Reset Windows Update components / cache If the update files are damaged or incomplete, resetting the update components can help:
    • Use the Windows Update Troubleshooter (again) to reset components automatically.
    • Clear the Windows Update cache if prompted by the troubleshooter, then retry the update.
    1. Check for other common causes
    • Ensure date, time, and time zone are correct (incorrect time can cause some update failures).
    • Make sure the internet connection is stable while downloading/installing the update.
    • Temporarily disable third‑party firewall/VPN software and retry.

If KB 5086672 still fails after these steps, use the guidance in the article’s error-code tables (for similar errors like 0x8007000d, 0x80070057, 0x80073712, etc.) as a pattern: repair system files with DISM, clear update cache, and retry. If the problem persists across multiple attempts, contact Microsoft Support for deeper log analysis.
