    Hi @JABA

Regarding that you can't see message from a user in Microsoft Teams. To better understand your situation and assist you more effectively, could you please help clarify the following:

1/ Is this a 1:1 chat, a group chat, or a channel conversation?

2/ Is the other person an internal user in your organization or an external/guest user?

3/ Are other users able to see messages from this person normally, or is the issue only affecting you?

4/ Does this issue occur in existing chat threads only, or also if you start a new chat with this person?

5/ Has the user ever been deleted and later restored (undeleted) in Microsoft Entra ID/Azure AD?

If I’ve misunderstood any part of your request, please feel free to correct me. I want to make sure I have a complete understanding of your situation so I can provide the best possible support.

Thank you for your time and understanding. While this response may not resolve the issue immediately, any additional details you provide will help me assist you more effectively. I truly appreciate your patience and am here to help. I look forward to your response.

Try these steps in order, testing after each one:

    1. Restart Teams completely
      • On Windows: In the taskbar, right-click the Teams icon and select Quit to fully close it, then open Teams again and check the chat with that person.
      • On Mac: Use Option + Command + Esc, select Microsoft Teams, choose Force Quit, then reopen Teams.
    2. Check connectivity
      • Confirm the internet connection works by opening a browser and visiting any website.
    3. Try another client
      • If using the desktop or mobile app, sign in to the web version at https://teams.microsoft.com/ and check whether messages from that person appear there.
    4. Sign out and back in
      • In Teams, select the profile picture (top right) → Sign out.
      • After Teams closes, open it again and sign in with the account email and password, then check the chat.
    5. Clear the Teams cache (desktop)
      • On Windows:
        1. Right-click the Teams icon in the taskbar → Quit.
        2. In File Explorer, go to %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams and delete all contents of that folder.
        3. Start Teams again and sign in.
      • On Mac:
        1. Right-click the Teams icon in the dock/taskbar → Quit.
        2. Delete the folder ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Teams.
        3. Start Teams again and sign in.
      • This removes cached data (local message history, images, etc.) but does not uninstall Teams.
    6. If this is a school/education account
      • If using Microsoft Teams for Education and this one person is a student or educator, chat permissions or safety settings might be limiting chat visibility. The school’s IT administrator may have:
        • Disabled private chat, or
        • Applied supervised/limited chat permissions.
      • In that case, contact the school IT administrator to verify whether chat between the two accounts is restricted.

If none of the above resolves it and messages from all other people work, the issue is likely account- or policy-related on the sender’s or receiver’s tenant, and needs review by the organization’s IT admin.
