I recently upgraded my PC with a new motherboard, but with the existing SSD drive. I originally bought windows 7 for the previous platform and upgraded to window 10 when 7 was aged out. Now 10 is aged out and I had to upgrade the MB so that I could upgrade to windows 11. after getting windows 10 to run on new MB it says that it is not activated. I have gone through the suggested routs several times over with no success. I followed a previous thread and you said to run slmgr/dlv in cmd prompt, I did and I tried to paste it in but was not successful, the partial activation code is 3v66t, This is the only copy of windows that I am running, I have cloned the drive to go from disc to SSD and cloned it once to go from 500 to 1tb SSd, That is what I am running now.

Several times when I tried to activate it, it came back with a message that said the windows server was down, try again later. Never worked. Where do I go from here?

    Hello Wayne Rife,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Before we proceed, may I confirm if the Windows 7 license you bought came along with the motherboard or you purchase it separately? The part 3v66t of the activation code seems to be the last part of the generic key for Windows Pro. Just want to check this as well, may I know if the edition of the current Windows match the one you used?

In the meantime, can you please try to run the Windows Activation Troubleshooter first? You can do it by going to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Activation > Troubleshoot.

    I'm waiting for your reply.
