messages wont send to user

every time i try to send a message to an external user which i have been messaging for over a year, it wont send the messages

    Thank you for reaching out. I understand how disruptive it is when a Teams chat that has worked for a long time suddenly stops sending to an external user. To narrow this down quickly, could you please share the details below:

    1. Do you see any error message or notification. If yes, please share the exact wording, or a screenshot if possible.
    2. Does it fail only with this one external person, or with any external recipient. Does it fail only for you, or for other users in your organization as well?
    3. Is ⁠external access (federation) is enabled tenant wide, and whether the external domain is allowed or blocked?
    4. ⁠Where does the issue in Teams, Teams desktop app on Windows, Teams desktop app on Mac, or Teams on the web?

    Once I have these details, I will be able to provide more targeted solutions for the issue.
