Last year I purchased 3 user CALs. The product keys did not work. I then created a support ticket, and after several attempts the installation of the licenses still failed. Eventually, a staff member (Zahraa Hessuin – ******@mail.support.microsoft.com) assisted me by phone and completed the activation using the telephone activation method. This was ultimately successful. This was for installing RDP on a Windows Server in the cloud. However, it is not functioning properly.
I have now purchased Windows Server 2025 myself and need to transfer the RDP licenses, but I do not have the keys. Could you please provide these to me as soon as possible?

Hi Modon Pallets,

Hi Modon Pallets,
First, RDS CALs are not tied to a specific server OS; they are issued to a license server and can be rehosted or reactivated on a new license server, so you should be able to move your entitlements. Please open Remote Desktop Licensing Manager on the current license server and check Installed Licenses to capture the license server ID, number of CALs installed, and the license type, that information is useful evidence for any transfer or re‑issue request.
Next, look for the original purchase confirmation or invoice from your reseller, the Microsoft Store, CSP portal, or VLSC/Partner Center; those documents are the primary proof of purchase Microsoft licensing support will require. If you cannot find the keys in email or portal, contact your reseller first, they can often reissue or provide the original key information for purchases they handled. If the reseller cannot help, open a Microsoft Licensing Support case and include your order number, reseller name, the previous support ticket reference, and the license server details you collected; Microsoft can validate the purchase and assist with re‑issuing or transferring the CALs.
If your previous activation was done by phone, note that telephone activation sometimes does not expose a visible product key in the portal, so the support case will need the activation reference and proof of purchase to proceed. As a practical step, avoid uninstalling the current license server until the transfer or re‑issue is confirmed, so you retain the installed license evidence.
I hope the response provided some helpful insight. If it clarified the issue for you, please consider marking it as Accept Answer so others with the same issue can find the solution.
