My Microsoft PC Manager has a new icon called Clawboard (icon is a red lobster).

I use the Microsoft PC Manager to review my PC. Today I noticed that there is a new icon on it titled Clawboard. There is a red icon and when I click it the window doesnt have anything active that is usable. This is new and I do not know what it is or how to remove it. I am concerned that this was somehow add by an outside source. I have searched for information on this and have found nothing.

I have created two snippets that I will attach. One on the main page of PC Manager, and the other is inside the icon.

I have uninstalled the app and then reinstalled and it is still there.

Please help! Any information and/or instructions on what to do, would be appreciated.

I don’t think it’s coming from an external source, since the feature appears to be built in and the app itself isn’t designed to support third party plugins. It’s labeled as “Preview,” so it’s likely a new feature currently being rolled out to a limited number of users. Based on the description, it supports Claw apps, which are AI apps built on the OpenClaw framework. They’re probably introducing AI to help manage or clear messages from apps like WhatsApp or Teams. Don’t worry, the icon may look suspicious, but OpenClaw is a legitimate framework and not something malicious.

Seems pretty weird for Microsoft to add this given they said the following.

"Self-hosted agent runtimes like OpenClaw are showing up fast in enterprise pilots, and they introduce a blunt reality: OpenClaw includes limited built-in security controls. The runtime can ingest untrusted text, download and execute skills (i.e. code) from external sources, and perform actions using the credentials assigned to it.

This effectively shifts the execution boundary from static application code to dynamically supplied content and third-party capabilities, without equivalent controls around identity, input handling, or privilege scoping.

In an unguarded deployment, three risks materialize quickly:

Credentials and accessible data may be exposed or exfiltrated.

The agent’s persistent state or “memory” can be modified, causing it to follow attacker-supplied instructions over time.

The host environment can be compromised if the agent is induced to retrieve and execute malicious code.

*Because of these characteristics, OpenClaw should be treated as untrusted code execution with persistent credentials. It is not appropriate to run on a standard personal or enterprise workstation. Hi Jonathan,

So now I am wondering if I have a problem. I had uninstalled it then rei stalled and it was still there. Is it still lurking within my device. Should I report this to Microsoft?

You can certainly raise this as a concern, as part of general feedback?

But unless you've got OpenClaw installed, and given permission to PC Manager to use it, there'd seem to be little risk at having the tab appear on PC Manager, at least at this stage. A bit like printer software that already comes with Windows and hardly ever get used.
