    Hi Tom Ambros,

From my understanding, you have lost all your teams chat after rebooting your computer and would like to call support. As moderators, I cannot contact you directly, but I can offer suggestions.

Teams chats are stored in the cloud and are tied to your account, not your device. A reboot should not delete chat history under normal circumstances.

This issue may be related to signing into a different account, sync delays, or a policy set by your organization. You can check if your chats are still there by going to this link. You can also try accessing another device or browser.

If you would like Microsoft to support by phone, you would raise a ticket as follows:

To raise a support ticket, you can follow the below:

    • Go to the admin center with your Global Admin account (or you can ask IT of your organization)
    • On the bottom right side of the page, select Help & support.

If any parts are unclear or you need help, please let me know.

Rebooting the computer does not delete Microsoft Teams chats on the service. If chats no longer appear, this is typically due to one of the following:

    1. Signed in with a different account
      • Sign out of Teams completely and sign back in.
      • Confirm that the same work/school account as before the reboot is used.
    2. Using a different Teams product/tenant
      • Ensure that Microsoft Teams for business (work or school) is open, not Microsoft Teams Free or a personal account.
      • In Teams, check the organization/tenant selector (if available) to switch back to the original organization.
    3. Local view vs. service data
      • Deleted chats in Microsoft Teams Free are removed from the chat list and are not searchable on that account, but the other participant still sees the full history.
      • If a one-on-one chat was deleted, starting a new chat with the same person will show a new thread without the previous history on that side, while the other person still has the full history.

To speak with someone by phone or live support, use Microsoft’s official support channels:

    • For general Microsoft support (including Teams), go to the main Microsoft Support entry point and follow the “Contact support” or “Get help” flow to reach a live agent (chat or callback). Steps from existing guidance:
      • Open the Get Help app or the web “Contact Support” experience.
      • Type a brief description (for example, “Teams chats missing”).
      • Choose Products & Services → Microsoft 365 and Office (or the closest match for the subscription).
      • Select the appropriate category (for example, “Manage my subscription” or “Technical support”).
      • Confirm and choose a support option such as “Chat with a support agent” or “Call me back.”

If accessibility assistance is needed (for example, using assistive technologies), the Microsoft Disability Answer Desk can also provide technical support by phone or other accessible channels. Details and regional contact options are available on the Microsoft Disability Answer Desk site.

If the issue involves an education or enterprise account, contacting the organization’s IT administrator or help desk is also recommended, as they can check account, policy, or retention settings that might affect chat visibility.
