I was using 2 monitors connected to the computer, one through the HDMI port and the other through the Type-C port. Something happened after the last system update, which included the HP BIOS update, that caused the Type-C port to stop working. I have tried connecting one of the Type-C ports to power and the other to the computer's Type-C port, but the result was the same. Is there a way to perform a downgrade to make it work again? ...

    Hello!
I have made some changes and now the additional Screen / External monitor is working fine.

Does that mean your monitor power port is also a type C port?
The monitor uses just one cable USB - Type C port, and it was working fine. I have tried to connect both cable (1 to support power, and another 1 as a dysplay port), but it didn't work.

Additionally, may I know if you are connecting directly using the type C USB or using a converter?
As I have tried to explain, I was connecting directly using the type C USP port.

Also, can you please check if the port working well when you connect it to another device? And may I know if you can still see the monitor through device manager?
The type C USP port was working only as a charged. I have tried to connect with other monitor but the result was the same.

If you want to roll back the Windows Update, you can go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history. It will show the latest Windows update on your computer and will have the choice to uninstall the recent updates. If you want to roll back the BIOS, you will need to contact HP for this.
I had some help from my IT team and we have made an upgrade of some driver, but it was not the solution.

Finally, I have made some changes at BIOS, to unable the thunderbolt, and the resolution to be used with the Display Port. And it was succesfully!

    Hello Flavio Souza,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

I see that you are having issue with your monitor after the system update. Before we proceed, may I know what you mean by "I have tried connecting one of the Type-C ports to power and the other to the computer's Type-C port"? Does that mean your monitor power port is also a type C port? Additionally, may I know if you are connecting directly using the type C USB or using a converter?

Also, can you please check if the port working well when you connect it to another device? And may I know if you can still see the monitor through device manager?

If you want to roll back the Windows Update, you can go to Settings > Windows Update > Update history. It will show the latest Windows update on your computer and will have the choice to uninstall the recent updates. If you want to roll back the BIOS, you will need to contact HP for this. Thank you for your understanding.

    I'm waiting for your reply.

To address the issue with your additional screen connected via the Type-C port after the recent Windows and HP BIOS update, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check Display Settings: Ensure that the display settings are configured correctly. You can use the keyboard shortcut Win + P to toggle between display modes (e.g., Extend, Duplicate, Second screen only) and see if the monitor is detected.
    2. Power Cycle the Monitors: Disconnect the monitors, power them off, and then power them back on before reconnecting them to the computer. This can sometimes reset the connection.
    3. Update Drivers: Check if there are any additional updates for your graphics drivers or USB Type-C drivers. You can do this through the Device Manager.
    4. Use Different Ports: If your computer has multiple Type-C ports, try connecting the monitor to a different port to see if it resolves the issue.
    5. Rollback Drivers: If the issue started after a specific update, consider rolling back the drivers to a previous version. You can do this in Device Manager by right-clicking the device, selecting Properties, and then the Driver tab.
    6. BIOS Settings: Check the BIOS settings to ensure that the Type-C port is enabled and configured correctly. Sometimes updates can reset these settings.
    7. Windows Troubleshooter: Run the Windows troubleshooter for hardware and devices to detect and fix any issues automatically.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may consider contacting HP support for further assistance or checking if a BIOS downgrade is possible, as this can sometimes help with compatibility issues after updates.
